An unsympathetic 1980’s house on a steeply sloping plot is surrounded on all sides by more historic properties. The proposals involve reducing the dominance of the existing projecting double garage to the front whilst emphasising the relocated new main entrance, re-cladding the facades in timber weatherboarding to match some of the surrounding buildings as well as extending to the rear to create a new split-level kitchen/dining garden room.
The new extension greatly improves the physical and visual connectivity with the attractive but challenging garden making a virtue out of the steeply sloping site.
