The main rooms of the existing Edwardian cottage face North East and are therefore fairly gloomy for most of the year. Our client wanted a light-filled home, additional floor area and a whole house refurbishment.
A new kitchen, utility room and informal dining area with built-in storage are created and a new seven metre long ‘frameless’ glass roof brings much needed daylight and sunlight into the heart of the house. These substantial changes are virtually invisible from the front of the house which was essential as we were working in a very sensitive area adjacent to several Listed Buildings, within a Conservation Area and in the Green Belt.
The home now relates really well to its rear garden and above all transforms the experience of day to day living.
