The original building was very compartmentalised, lacking in natural light and didn’t take advantage of its spectacular and elevated views over woodland.
There was sufficient floorspace so only a very small glazed extension was added. A new glazed wall and roof opens up the views to the rear and greatly increases natural light levels.
The home was significantly reconfigured & refurbished throughout and its appearance also reimagined externally. The floor plan was opened up and a much more natural circulation flow from space to space established. A double-height hall was also inserted integrating ground & first floor levels and a line of sight was generated from the front door all the way through to the dramatic views at the rear. External openings were substantially increased particularly to integrate the building more successfully with its site.
