We employed Stewart&Stewart Design to look around the property before we purchased it. Mark saw the potential of the plot immediately and then they went on to produce an inspirational family home for us. They were a safe pair of hands that supported us from the beginning of our journey to the day we moved in.
Mark and Amanda listened carefully to our brief, contributing with valuable expertise. They translated our ideas and made them become reality. They informed us clearly about the process, gave practical timescales andhelped us to establish a realistic budget. Also, they showed great patience, as our ideas evolved.
This was our second time working with Mark and Amanda. They were invaluable to our building project; turning the tired, dated terraced house we purchased into a unique family home. From initial concept through to design and working with awkward planning departments, they always made us feel as though they were in control and our dreams could be realised. Mark and Amanda were a pleasure to work with and if we ever undertake another project they will be our first call.
Amanda, Mark and Malcolm have been invaluable on our build, right from initial concept discussion through to design of the integrated pieces of bespoke furniture. This was our first building project and we were professionally led through the process while always feeling like we were in control. One of the most pleasing parts of working with them was that they just got us and what we were trying to achieve. Their ability to respond creatively to challenges along the way inspired us with confidence and above all they were able to turn a fabulous vision into an outstanding reality.
When we came across this property, it was a real “project”. We involved Mark and Amanda from an early stage. We needed their expertise to support our vision for the perfect family home that we wanted to create. The initial conceptual design ideas allowed us to be able to visualise these. Mark and Amanda’s creative tips and advice helped us to shape it for the better. They gave us the confidence that it was feasible!
Our new home is warm and welcoming now. It flows well, gives each family member his or her own space and yet connects us all. At the heart of the new home is agreat family and entertaining space. It works perfectly for cooking, sharing family meals and for convivial times with friends. It also connects usto the garden and the wildlife within, providing a peaceful, beautiful backdrop. This is our home and house for life now!
Amanda understands what we want to achieve and because of this we have used her a couple of times now for different pieces of furniture. She has produced ideas that are specific to our taste, budget and the way that we live everyday, creating pieces that look good and are functional too.
From our first conversation to the finished project, we were really impressed with Stewart and Stewart. We are thrilled with the end result and a number of friends have asked for our architect’s details since seeing our project!
Mark and Amanda have been involved in the complete renovation of our home from the very start. They took time to understand what we were looking to achieve, and what was really important to us and saw us through the complicated listed building planning process. They also designed the interior, bathrooms, kitchen and central staircase, overseeing local craftsmen to ensure the end product would be sympathetic with the overall design of the house. We are absolutely delighted with the end result, and could not have done it without Stewart & Stewart Design.

Having listened to how we lived our lives and wanted to get from the space, Mark and Amanda came up with a brilliant plan that meets all our needs, is incredibly stylish and such a creative use of space. They helped with the interior design and decor, again listening closely to what we did and didn’t like and coming up with a vision and ideas that we would never have dreamt of.
